29.03.10 | who is ‘furio’?
Everyone thinks its a random weird name, but there is a story(ish) behind it…
My first lizard was a Leopard Gecko, and i decided to call him Silvio, named after the character in Sopranos. Silvio was the old guy with slick back hair, who pulled the same face throughout the entire series. Here’s a picture.
Anyway, Silvio died of an infection, which sucked a lot and kinda got me down. He was really young and i hated the fact i lost a gecko that early.
When coming to name my next gecko, i decided to carry on the Sopranos theme on, hence this little guy’s name ‘Furio’. Furio’s Italian for Furious, and the character in Sopranos was one of the most unpredictable and violent; a fantastic performance in the TV show if you ever get to watch it.
Here’s the real man himself.
